Challenge rules
These are the rules of "Crack the Vault", the weekly challenge on puzzledpost.com.
Who runs it
The challenge is run by Puzzled Post ("we"). You can reach us at [email protected].
Nothing to buy, and no draw
No purchase is needed to play or to win. It is a game of skill, not a lottery or a prize draw: everyone who finishes in time wins a prize, and there is no limit to the number of winners.
Who can play
The challenge is open worldwide, except where the law does not allow it. You must be 16 or over to give us your email address. If you are younger, please ask a parent or guardian to play and claim for you.
How it works
- A new set of three puzzles starts every Monday at 00:00 UTC and lasts a week.
- You have 90 seconds for each puzzle and 4 minutes for all three. Our server keeps the time, not your device, and allows a few seconds for slow connections.
- Each puzzle has one hint. Taking it takes 15 seconds off your overall clock.
- A wrong answer costs only the time you lose. You can try as often as you like, as many times as you like during the week.
The prize
- Finish the three puzzles in time and you can pick any one of the paid games on offer, free.
- The prize is a personal licence for one digital game. It has no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or anything else, and cannot be transferred, shared or sold.
- There is one prize per email address per week, and one per person per week.
- To claim, you enter your email address (we use it to give you the prize and to send it again if you lose the link) and accept these rules.
Marketing is separate
At the claim step there is an optional, separate box to receive the weekly challenge and news from Puzzled Post. It starts unticked, and the prize never depends on it. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click. See the privacy page.
Fair play
Please play by hand. We can void a win, and the prize that came with it, from automated, scripted or tampered runs, or where someone used more than one identity to win more than once a week.
Changes
We can change these rules, change the puzzles, or end the challenge. We will put notice on the challenge page. A prize already claimed stays yours.
Your legal rights
Nothing here limits any right you have by law.
